Position Summary

The Senior Business Analyst will serve as the lead business and solution analyst for enterprise technology initiatives. Working closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders, this consultant will define end-to-end solution architecture, translate business strategy and requirements into scalable technology solutions, evaluate solution alternatives, and coordinate implementation across applications, data, integrations, infrastructure, cloud, security, and vendor teams.

This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle position spanning discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, documentation, and change management. It requires someone who can operate beyond traditional requirements gathering and contribute meaningful technical judgment, solution direction, and enterprise project leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Stakeholder Partnership

  • Lead business analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, documentation, and change management for enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to assess current processes, define business requirements, and identify opportunities for process and technology improvements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison among business units, IT, vendors, and project teams to maintain alignment throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Define functional specifications, configuration requirements, reporting requirements, workflows, and system processes.

Solution Architecture and Technology Strategy

  • Lead the definition of solution architecture and provide technical consultation for enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable functional and technical solution designs.
  • Lead the design of complex business and technology solutions spanning applications, data, integrations, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
  • Evaluate third-party software, cloud services, and vendor solutions against business, technical, security, operational, and support requirements.
  • Partner with IT leadership to develop application strategies, technology roadmaps, and enterprise solution direction.
  • Validate technical feasibility, evaluate solution alternatives, and recommend the most appropriate implementation approach.

Delivery, Implementation, and Governance

  • Develop architecture diagrams, workflow models, system documentation, and implementation artifacts supporting solution delivery.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software solutions across business, vendor, and technical teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of business processes, enterprise workflows, and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Communicate solution recommendations, architectural decisions, risks, and key findings to business stakeholders, project teams, and executive leadership.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience delivering full-cycle technology solutions, from discovery and requirements through implementation and change management.
  • At least 4 years of experience within the financial services industry.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, with an emphasis on enterprise systems development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated business and systems analysis experience, including direct partnership with stakeholders to define and validate requirements.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure and Software-as-a-Service applications.
  • Experience contributing to functional and technical solution design across multiple enterprise technology domains.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, solution alternatives, vendor capabilities, risks, and implementation approaches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present recommendations and technical concepts to business, technology, and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting ETF, mutual fund, brokerage, asset management, or investment-product environments.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing COTS platforms, third-party software, SaaS applications, or vendor-led solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will be a senior, hands-on analyst capable of owning the complete solution lifecycle rather than operating exclusively within requirements gathering. This individual should be comfortable moving between business-process analysis, solution architecture, technical feasibility, project delivery, and implementation coordination within a complex enterprise environment.

Candidates must also be able to work onsite in the Bethesda, Maryland area three days per week under the stated hybrid schedule.
