Our client, a publicly-held oil field service company located in Houston, is adding a Controller to their team. They offer good benefits and upward mobility within the company. Will pay relocation.
Some responsibilities include:
- Accountable for the direction of the Accounting/Finance functions of the division
- Guarantee that company capital expenditure/fixed assets policy is enforced
- Organize the annual Strategic Plan, Budgets and Forecasts with division management
- Manage and guide staff in professional development
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of inventory accuracy, including physical verification, valuation and excess reserves
- Offer cost accounting services, containing information to assist in pricing decisions
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly closing, internal and external audits, and financial reporting – assuring compliance with corporate policy, SOX and GAAP
- Run contract revenue and cost accounting for the compliance with GAAP involving contact accounting
Experience requirements:
- Degree in accounting
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing accounting in a leadership position
- Experience with leading the monthly close and reporting / budgets and forecasts
- Must be familiar with Discrete manufacturing/producing physical parts vs process manufacturing (Building, making/fabricating and assembling the product.)
- Experience with POC highly preferred
- Experience with an ERP system
- MBA, CPA, or CMA is preferred
