We have partnered with our client in their search for a Vendor Management Consultant to establish and operationalize a consistent vendor management program within a regulated organization.

Location: Hybrid in St. Paul, Minnesota

Role Summary

The consultant will develop a structured vendor management framework covering governance, onboarding, due diligence, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, renewals, and offboarding. This role will partner with legal, compliance, security, procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure vendor risks and obligations are properly identified and managed.

The consultant will also help translate vendor management processes into requirements and workflows within Gatekeeper. Knowledge of Gatekeeper or experience supporting its implementation is valuable. The platform supports vendor risk and compliance, contract lifecycle management, vendor performance, centralized records, and configurable workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current vendor management practices and identify governance, process, and documentation gaps.
  • Establish a consistent vendor lifecycle framework, including intake, due diligence, approval, onboarding, monitoring, renewal, and offboarding.
  • Define stakeholder roles, approval responsibilities, escalation paths, and documentation standards.
  • Develop risk-based processes for evaluating vendors and determining appropriate due diligence and oversight.
  • Create practical policies, procedures, templates, and controls that can be maintained after the assignment.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, security, procurement, and business stakeholders.
  • Translate vendor management processes into business requirements and workflows within Gatekeeper.
  • Support Gatekeeper implementation activities such as process mapping, workflow design, data preparation, documentation, training, and adoption.
  • Help align vendor onboarding workflows with organizational policies, approvals, and risk-assessment requirements. Gatekeeper provides configurable workflows for centralizing vendor data, documentation, approvals, risk assessments, and audit trails.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience building, implementing, or improving vendor management or third-party risk programs.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor lifecycle management, governance, due diligence, risk, compliance, and ongoing oversight.
  • Experience developing vendor management policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as banking, insurance, or healthcare.
  • Ability to translate vendor management processes into operational requirements and workflows.
  • Familiarity with vendor management or contract lifecycle platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management, process development, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and move the engagement forward within a compressed timeline.
  • Knowledge of Gatekeeper or experience supporting a Gatekeeper implementation is valuable.
