DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING
This is a highly visible, key role for the organization and will provide complete oversight of all areas of operational accounting including the General Ledger, AP, JIB and Revenue functions and will report directly to the VP, CAO & Controller.
· Manage and develop staff this position will supervise 4 direct reports
· Review day-to-day transactions in accordance with SOX controls and internal financial reporting guidelines
· Primary contact for Audit including SOX 404 compliance and internal/ external audits
· Responsible for ensuring a timely month end close including monthly binder is properly completed and documented
· Process improvements - identify areas for improved efficiency and implementation of same.
· AFE setups in accounting system (Ogsys) including spend review, trend analysis and accuracy
· Review & approve Capex accrual including, analyzing review meeting notes,writing commentary and presentation of results to Sr. Management
· Oversight of all accounting processes for related-party company; including managing relationship with services provider, inter-company, and cash entries, and supporting financial reporting
· Ensure banking information is completed and manage AP routing process through DocVue
· Manage vendor credit limits, review vendor financials and credit applications
· Review AP subledger reconciliations, aging with notes for close
JIB & Revenue
· Manage partner cash calls
· Manage relationships with high dollar vendors
· Handle AP questions regarding JIB processing; review JIB accuracy and completeness prior to invoicing through EnergyLink
· Review and approval of monthly revenue accrual
Requirements
· BBA Accounting and active CPA license required
· Minimum of 10 years direct experience in E&P accounting, operated properties required, offshore operated a strong plus
· Public accounting experience preferred
· Strong communication skills with all levels essential
· Detailed and deadline focused
