Title: Director of Total Rewards
Location: South Bay, CA area
Lucas Group has partnered with a global company on their search for a Director of Total Rewards. This is a newly created role, based in The South Bay of Southern California. The company is a government contractor involved in several vertical markets. They manufacture, and distribute components used in homeland security, healthcare, defense and aerospace.
We are looking for someone that can take the reins of their Total Rewards team, by setting the tone for Compensation and Benefits moving forward for this high growth, rapidly changing organization. This position will report to the CHRO and will be responsible for the management, development and execution of all compensation, benefits and reward strategies globally.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the CHRO to develop compensation, benefits and rewards strategy for the Company
- Design, Develop, communicate and manage all compensation, benefits and recognition programs
- Ensure compliance with overall policies and pertinent federal, state and local legislation
- Manage benefit and compensation plan consultants, vendors and legal advisers regarding benefit policies, eligibility and coverage matter including enrollment procedures
- Provide strategic recommendations with regard to cost containment and increasing return on investment
- Participate in the research, analysis, development/revision and implementation of employee benefits and compensation programs
- Support our Global team on the development of programs, partnerships with vendors and compliance expectations
- Partner with the Business Units to ensure that programs and implementation and other factors are cognoscente of the business practices and major timelines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business or finance required
- MBA strongly preferred
- SHRM or CEB certification
- 7 – 10 years management experience with progressive experience in both qualified and non-qualified benefits and compensation programs
- In depth knowledge and demonstrated experience with all employee health and welfare benefits and associated processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with compensation administration, design and executive compensation programs. Working knowledge of federal and/or state regulations affecting the administration of broad-based benefit, retirement and compensation plans (FLSA, ERISA, HIPPA, etc.).
- Management experience required and Global Experience preferred – will manage a small Compensation and Benefits team in various locations domestic and abroad
- Experience within a publicly traded organization is a plus
- Sales Compensation
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner with all levels of employees, managers, vendors, consultants, and legal advisers and c-suite.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary along with very good facilitation and administrative skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out assignments; ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standard situations.
- In-depth knowledge of complex benefits and compensation plans and how they are administered.
- Ability to analyze compensation policies, program and governmental regulations to develop competitive compensation plans. Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives as needed.
- Administer, direct and review employee benefit program. Design, evaluate and modify benefits policies to ensure programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements.
