Lucas Group has partnered with a rapidly growing exporter on their search for an accomplished multi-lingual Director of Supply Chain to manage their global export carrier relationships and the supply chain team.
A Global role, it requires a strong background in maritime transportation (carriers and NVOCCs) as well as rail and land transportation in the USA, expertise in international shipping documentation, letters of credit and global import / export operations in general.

The role is based in South Florida (north of Miami) and there is a strong preference for local candidates.
Education Requirements:
- 4-year college degree in either Supply Chain Industrial, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related fields
- MBA and other relevant degree /certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is desirable
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years of successful experience in international logistics / supply chain at a freight forwarder or extensive experience negotiating ocean freight contracts.
- Significant staff management experience with strong leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of land and maritime transportation. Shipping documentation and Letters of Credit negotiations among others
- Proven ability to develop and lead teams through ocean freight negotiations and initiatives to deliver significant business impact.
Responsibilities:
- Provide senior leadership to our logistics and customer service teams globally, strong HR understanding to lead a diverse, multicultural and multinational team.
- Develop local and regional coverage strategies to facilitate commercial operations.
- Negotiate packaging, freight and other logistics services contracts globally – best in class global contracts needed.
- Select and implement the best IT support services to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Close coordination with other company areas: Sourcing, Sales, Finance
