Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic QA Manager or Director Level with a background in development, application and maintenance of quality standards aligned with AS9100.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

· Develop, control and support creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Support internal, customer, & third party audits, including the FAA and AS9100 registrar audits.

· Perform product, process and quality system audits

· Demonstrated experience in mitigating, identifying, and resolving manufacturing issues (NCR/CAPA).

  • Experience in root cause investigation for manufacturing issues.
  • Work closely with production to resolve manufacturing challenges, and diagnose and disposition non-conformant parts and assemblies in order to support on-time shipments to customers

· Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections.

  • Monitor the performance of the CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) system.
  • Active participation in defining inspection requirements, acceptance limits and inspection plans to ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to make improvements to processes.
  • Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline.

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Expert experience of DFSS, DMAIC, RCCA, and FMEA preferred.
  • 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skills.
  • Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience working with quality systems; e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR Regulations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications: Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
  • Certified Lead Auditor AS9100D is a plus.
  • Read and Write in English. Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
  • Lean certifications (Example: Six Sigma) is a plus.

•Computer literacy, Microsoft office and data entry experience

•High school diploma or Bachelor degree preferred

•Must be detail oriented, dependable, and able to do routine work

•Five or more years of mail or general office experience

•Ability to pay attention to detail.

•Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.

•Ability to successfully complete an extensive government background check

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 10+ years of hands on experience in lean manufacturing.  Aerospace Industry experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
