This Los Angeles based client is searching for a HR talent who will be responsible for all human resources activities for their organization. Reporting to the Founder, this Director will be work with the senior leadership team, and will access and deliver HR needs to ensure achievement of strategic and operational business goals. Must be an innovative, progressive leader with significant functional knowledge and experience in Human Resources AND someone who cares about their employee populations.
Key Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Director will be directly accountable and responsible for the proper execution of HR policies, programs and practices in accordance with the strategic objectives of the organization.
Major Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to effectively execute overall enterprise-wide HR strategies and achieve their desired results
- Partner with Recruiting Manager to facilitate workforce planning and succession planning sessions– resulting in strategies that ensure that the right people with the right skills are in the right job at the right time
- Lead, coach and direct the proper execution of initiatives. These initiatives include, but are not limited to: effective HR planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, training, performance management, legal compliance and organizational development
- Ensure quality operations in human resources processes. Effective oversight of existing programs in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Responsible for employee engagement strategies to improve results delivered across organizational and geographical boundaries
- Provide internal consultation promoting fair and equitable treatment of all employees
- Support senior management team in the development of solutions that are culturally sensitive and contribute to the development of the organization through implementing sustainable process and procedures
- Provide oversight in the resolution of employee relation issues. Provide counsel and interpretation relative to best management and human resources practices
- Foster an inclusive environment which stimulates open communication, creativity, innovation and engenders a focused team spirit in solving problems and building the business
- Spend time and build rapport in the field (1 days/week) with emphasis on building relationships with all team member. Most travel is local - all other travel will be a day trip
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in operating at a senior level and growing significant internal customer relationships.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible human resources leadership experience working with diverse companies.
- Subject matter expert in supporting human resources strategies and policies; and can get their hands around the “big picture”
- Possess a broad expertise in business, human resource management, organizational development/effectiveness and change management
- Thorough knowledge of human resource policies and procedures as well as global, federal and state law implications
- Experience with fast changing environments; situations where success has been driven by cutting-edge thinking/results
- Multi-unit food service or retail experience preferred
