Our client, a rapidly growing oil & gas company located in the Galleria area of Houston, seeks a Director of Financial Reporting to add to their team. This is a newly created position due to the growth of the company. The Financial Reporting Director will have primary responsibility for preparing the financial statements for the US entities and will assist the international entities as needed. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the company’s general ledger system.
Director of Financial Reporting Responsibilities:
- Draft the annual financial statements for the US-based entities and the US GAAP financial statements for the international business
- Maintain and distribute the monthly close calendar with all reporting requirements
- Primary liaison with auditors
- Research and document technical accounting positions and policies
- Monitor new accounting pronouncements and work with controllers to determine impact on the company’s financial statements
- Complete other financial reports as required
- Coordinate preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Other special projects as requested
Director of Financial Reporting Requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 in financial reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
