The Director of Engineering & Project Management is a key role in Supply Chain. The primary role will be to ensure best in class engineering standards, processes and flow in our Operations enabling superior service capability to our external customers at the lowest sustainable cost.
This role will work with both business and technical teams to build a scalable and reliable fulfillment network. The desired candidate will provide technical guidance, operational expertise, and analytical support to Logistics Strategy, Facilities Design, Construction, Finance, Field Operations and Operations Research teams.
The successful candidate will develop material handling systems design (for order fulfillment and retail distribution operation) with development of controls specifications, control schematics, PLC logic and implement solutions. This individual will also develop strategic operating procedures that support network-wide business objectives in Order Fulfillment and Retail Distribution and evaluate new or improved operating methods, technology, equipment, facility design and layout.
In addition, this role will lead the development of viable solutions to automate pick, pack and ship processes within our Fulfillment Centers using Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks, and provide guidance to teams that develop and implement algorithms to optimize Least Cost Algorithms, Order Fulfillment Logic, Cost to Serve Model and seamless multi-sourcing.
