Role Overview: Lucas Group has partnered with a Southern California non-profit human services and health care organization in their search for an experienced Director of Compensation.
Reporting to the Vice President for Human Resources, the Director for Compensation will develop and design organization wide compensation strategies, incentive programs, and general compensation policies and procedures. Additionally, this person will oversee analysis of jobs, hourly wages, salaries, pay grades, and incentives in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization’s pay practices. The Director oversees the organization’s development of job descriptions, salary survey participation, market analysis, and implementation of compensation programs through Compensation Analyst(s) and cross-functional team members.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years’ Compensation experience or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience to perform the job successfully.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
- 7 years’ experience in broad-based compensation and incentive plan strategy, design, and administration with proven experience designing and implementing hourly compensation plans.
- 3 years’ experience managing direct reports in Human Resources or Compensation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, balanced with a willingness to play a 'hands-on' role in key projects.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills required to effectively communicate compensation strategies at all levels, from line associates to senior staff.
- Strong organizational skills, concise documentation skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of all applicable Federal and State Wage and Hour Laws.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Applications; advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams, while continuing to move the project(s) forward.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; exercise good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to properly interpret and implement policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
