We have partnered with our client in their search for a looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our Continuous Delivery Pipeline (CDP) and observability systems. You'll design, build, and optimise infrastructure and tooling that supports the delivery, monitoring, and reliability of large-scale enterprise applications.

This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic technical leadership, ensuring continuous improvement across CI/CD, container orchestration, and observability stacks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and related tools.

  • Develop and support infrastructure for containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).

  • Create and maintain observability solutions - monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.

  • Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and scripts (Bash, Python).

  • Contribute to the scalability, performance, and resilience of CDP infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with software and platform teams in an Agile environment.

  • Lead incident triage, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.

  • Document systems, processes, and best practices in Confluence.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps culture across teams.

  • Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm

  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, Chef, HashiCorp Stack (Consul, Vault, Packer)

  • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

  • Networking & Proxy Tools: HAProxy, NGINX

  • Cloud / Platform Experience: OpenStack, AWS, or Azure

Skills & Experience

  • 8-10 years' experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.

  • Strong background in Linux administration, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining containerised applications (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Skilled in monitoring, alerting, and logging technologies for production environments.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and configuration management.

  • Good understanding of network configuration, security, and scalability principles.

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Salesforce deployments (SFDX CLI).

  • Familiarity with FitNesse, Selenium, or similar testing tools.

  • Exposure to SSO tools, Wireshark, or ContainerPilot/Consul-template.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
