Compensation: $80 - $100/hr

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Deputy Controller. This Deputy Controller role partners closely with the Controller and the finance team to ensure effective financial reporting and internal controls. A major success factor is serving as the subject matter expert (SME) and liaison for Oracle Fusion within a higher education setting, ensuring the platform is fully leveraged. Success is measured by the optimization of financial processes and the smooth integration of Oracle Fusion capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Oracle Fusion financials support and optimization efforts
    Act as liaison between finance team and Oracle Fusion implementation teams
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting processes
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls within the Oracle Fusion environment
  • Train and guide the finance team on best practices and platform capabilities
  • Collaborate on aligning Oracle Fusion financials with institutional objectives
  • Identify and resolve system issues impacting financial operations
  • Support process improvements and efficiency gains using Oracle tools

Skills Required

  • Oracle Fusion financials implementation experience in higher education
  • Expertise in financial reporting and controls within Oracle Fusion
  • Knowledge of higher education finance structures and practices
  • Strong problem-solving in Oracle Fusion configuration and use cases
  • Ability to translate financial needs into Oracle solutions
  • Experience with finance process optimization projects
  • Effective communication across technical and finance teams
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance in financial reporting
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion configurations and customizations
  • Ability to train and mentor staff on Oracle Fusion features
  • Familiarity with change management during system transitions
  • Proven stakeholder management across departments

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years in financial roles, with system implementation experience (Oracle ERP)
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion rollouts
  • 3+ years in Higher Education finance roles
