This is a unique opportunity to work on a highly specialised programme focused on unlocking customer information held within legacy banking platforms and historical data repositories.

The successful candidate will play a key role in recovering, analysing and interpreting customer records that are difficult to access through existing systems. Working across historical savings and card account data, you will help develop scalable approaches to identify customer information, improve data quality, and support business-critical customer recovery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and recover customer information from legacy banking systems and archived data sources.
  • Investigate historical savings and card account records to identify relevant customer information.
  • Support customer recovery initiatives, including programmes involving deceased customers and repatriation activities.
  • Work across large volumes of historic customer records, analysing approximately 7,000 legacy files and associated datasets.
  • Develop practical methods for accessing data stored within legacy platforms and system overlays.
  • Utilise AI-enabled tools and data mining techniques to improve the speed and accuracy of customer identification and analysis.
  • Assess data quality, reconcile records and identify inconsistencies across multiple data sources.
  • Collaborate with business, operations, technology and data teams to deliver actionable insights.
  • Document processes, methodologies and recommendations to support future operational activities.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience working with legacy systems and historical data environments.
  • Strong background in data mining, data discovery and complex data analysis.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to interrogate, classify or enrich large datasets.
  • Ability to navigate fragmented or poorly documented legacy environments.
  • Good understanding of customer lifecycle data within financial services, particularly savings and card products.
  • Experience handling sensitive customer data, ideally including deceased customer processes.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • SQL and advanced data querying skills.
  • Experience with legacy system integrations and overlay technologies.
  • Understanding of data governance and regulatory requirements within financial services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience developing repeatable methodologies for accessing and analysing complex legacy data.

Assignment Details

  • Contract: 12 months
  • Sector: Financial Services
  • Focus: Legacy customer data recovery and analysis
  • Objective: Develop scalable approaches to identify, recover and analyse customer records held within legacy systems, enabling the business to resolve outstanding customer issues efficiently and at scale.
