We're looking for a Data Solution Architect (Databricks) to join our client in London. This role will focus on leading data and AI platform delivery based on Databricks, driving design and execution while fostering trust in a multi-vendor environment. You will also provide architectural guidance, support integrations, and steer innovation aligned with strategic business goals.
This position is operating inside IR35, at a daily rate of up to £700 per day
Note: This is a hybrid working position that requires 2 days on site initially, and this will increase later in the contract term to 4 days per week
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data and AI platform solutions, ensuring quality and timely outcomes
- Design and implement Databricks-centric data platforms and related products for advanced analytics use cases
- Guide teams on AWS infrastructure, storage, and compute services to optimize cloud operations
- Oversee integration with Tableau to provide actionable visual insights
- Support SAP data integration and migration efforts as required by the solution design
- Proactively identify technical blockers and provide mitigation strategies to maintain delivery momentum
- Establish and enforce platform engineering and DevOps best practices across the delivery team
- Conduct project reviews and report progress to client stakeholders regularly
- Contribute to solution documentation, architecture diagrams, and internal knowledge-sharing processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Tech Lead or hybrid Solution Architect / Forward Deployed Engineer role
- Expertise in Databricks, with demonstrated success in large-scale data platform initiatives
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services for compute, storage, and orchestration
- Familiarity with Tableau integration for reporting and visualization
- Knowledge of SAP data workflows, including extraction and migration to analytics platforms
- In-depth understanding of data engineering principles, cloud-native architectures, and AI/ML workflows
- Ability to manage client relationships, negotiate priorities, and foster collaboration in multi-stakeholder environments
- Exceptional communication skills with proven leadership in distributed teams
Nice to Have
- Experience in data platform security, governance, and compliance within regulated environments
- Knowledge of DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code approaches
- Exposure to multi-cloud data ecosystems beyond AWS
- Previous experience influencing technology strategies in complex enterprise settings
