Title: Data Management Consultant-Oracle Migration
Location: Remote w/ occasional travel to Dallas, TX

Compensation: $50 - $65/hr.
We have partnered with our client in their search for a Data Management Consultant-Oracle Migration. The Data Management Consultant-Oracle Database Migration leads and supports the migration of large Oracle databases from on-premises to cloud environments. The role partners closely with a Team Lead/Manager, onsite stakeholders, and an offshore delivery team to plan, test, and execute migrations. Success is measured by on-time cutovers, data integrity, adherence to security and compliance requirements, and clear documentation and status reporting to project leadership.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute Oracle database migrations from on-premises to cloud environments
- Configure and manage Oracle Exadata environments to support migration and steady-state operations
- Coordinate daily with the offshore team to align tasks, resolve issues, and meet project milestones
- Implement migration testing, performance validation, and rollback procedures
- Administer database upgrades and related maintenance activities within the migration scope
- Monitor data integrity, security controls, and compliance requirements throughout the migration
- Document architectures, runbooks, and status reports; track deliverables and timelines
Skills Required
- Oracle Database administration with focus on migration, administration, and upgrade activities
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata configuration and operations
- Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance practices during migration
- Ability to implement and validate migration test plans and cutover checklists
- Experience collaborating with offshore teams through daily standups and working sessions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication with stakeholders and technical teams
- Proficiency creating technical documentation, runbooks, and status reporting
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, or GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
- Exposure to Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) and Oracle GoldenGate preferred
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
- 3-5 years of Oracle database administration with cloud migration experience
- Ability to travel within the United States for client workshops and meetings as needed
