Data / Integration Architect (Remote - EU, Contract, Hands-On)

Remote | 6-month contract, extension likely | CPG / Retail E-commerce

The role

A hands-on data and integration specialist to join a fast-moving data team and take ownership of data flows across a business-critical landscape. Working alongside the existing team, you'll help relieve workload and ensure critical knowledge and capability are shared, not concentrated in one person. This is an in-the-detail position, not a purely strategic architecture seat.

What you'll do

  • Own the data flows across the estate (cloud data platform, order management, e-commerce and marketplace systems), spotting gaps and choosing the right integration approach.
  • Support planning systems across the estate, for example an in-progress RELEX deployment.
  • Troubleshoot end to end when systems break or when numbers do not reconcile.
  • Review, test and QA work from the offshore development team, acting as the quality gate.
  • Support and maintain the Power BI reporting environment.

Essential

  • Strong integration / data-flow thinking across multiple systems.
  • Strong SQL / PL-SQL (querying, modelling, performance).
  • Azure Data Lake or equivalent cloud data platform.
  • A genuinely hands-on troubleshooting mindset, including when numbers do not reconcile.

Strongly preferred

  • Power BI.
  • Order Management System experience (e.g. IBM Sterling).
  • E-commerce / marketplace platform data (e.g. commercetools, Amazon).
  • Planning systems experience (e.g. RELEX).
  • CPG / retail e-commerce background.

Nice to have

  • ERP exposure (Oracle Fusion, SAP).
  • Finance reconciliation / period-close data experience.
