Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Data Engineer Consultant to partner closely with a specialized Credit team that maintains a tight?knit, collaborative culture. This role is fully embedded within their group and will support the modernization, stabilization, and future development of data solutions used across their investment and underwriting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as an integrated member of the Credit team, adapting to their collaborative culture and fast-paced environment.
  • Assess existing Python applications and Snowflake integrations; identify areas of technical debt, architectural gaps, and design flaws.
  • Refactor, redesign, or recreate applications and data pipelines to align with best practices and enterprise engineering standards.
  • Develop new functionality and enhance existing features in response to evolving business needs.
  • Implement scalable, secure, and maintainable data engineering solutions leveraging Python, Snowflake, and related technologies.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, data governance practices, and solution design frameworks.
  • Collaborate with credit analysts, operations, risk, and technology partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of the team's data ecosystem.
  • Document all technical changes, architectures, and processes to ensure long-term maintainability.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including application development, packaging, and integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake (SnowSQL, Snowpark, performance tuning, data modeling).
  • Extensive experience building, maintaining, and refactoring production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control, testing frameworks, and CI/CD processes.
  • Ability to redesign or re-architect legacy solutions while minimizing impact on business operations.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in a highly collaborative onsite environment.
