We have partnered with our client in their search for a Credit & Collections Supervisor for a 6-month engagement with the opportunity to convert to full-time. This role is based in Bolingbrook with an onsite requirement Tuesday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of 6 (4 Credit & Collection Representatives and 2 Credit Assistants), overseeing workload distribution, performance, training, coaching, and day-to-day operations.
- Manage a portfolio of complex customer accounts, with approximately 25% of the role focused on collections (primarily email-based), while ensuring timely collections, order releases, cash application, reconciliations, and credit approvals.
- Assess credit risk, resolve escalated customer issues, and partner cross-functionally to improve collections, reduce delinquency, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Skills Required
- 3-5+ years of Credit & Collections experience with 1+ year of supervisory/people leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, collections, financial statement analysis, dispute resolution, and accounts receivable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Banking, Management, Liberal Arts, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience leading a Credit & Collections team while managing complex customer accounts, driving collection performance, and developing staff.
