Primary Roles and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supporting the cost accounting function for a multi-site, international manufacturing company. Reporting to the Cost/Manufacturing Controller, the position will support standard cost management, perform monthly variance calculations, maintain and test appropriate cost accounting controls and policies, maintain costing of daily sales, and oversee inventory and cycle counts. Responsibilities include:
- Perform cost accounting and analyses across multiple international manufacturing sites.
- Maintain daily cost sales register.
- Analyze and report monthly cost variances.
- Analyze and report on production efficiencies across all sites.
- Build activity-based budgeting models to analyze and establish standard costs including labor and material overhead rates.
- Coordinate physical inventories and continuous cycle counts.
- Calculate inventory valuations and reserves for slow-moving and obsolete items.
- Test internal controls related to manufacturing cost and inventories.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum 2 – 5+ years experience in cost accounting in an international manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Exposure to cost accounting principles, cost accounting systems, standard costs and cost variance analyses.
- Experience performing physical inventory and cycle counts.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
