Interim Cost Accounting Manager

Position Overview

A high-growth manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Cost Accountant to provide immediate support to its Finance and Accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage product and manufacturing costing, including materials, labor, overhead, and production costs.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs, BOMs, routings, and inventory costing within NetSuite.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, including material, labor, overhead, scrap, purchase price, and production-volume variances.
  • Support inventory accounting and valuation across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Analyze COGS, gross margins, inventory movements, and manufacturing performance.
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and manufacturing reporting.
  • Partner remotely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and manufacturing teams to resolve costing and inventory issues.
  • Improve cost-accounting processes, controls, reporting, and data integrity within NetSuite.
  • Provide continuity and knowledge transfer to the permanent hire.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience with significant manufacturing cost-accounting experience.
  • Strong hands-on NetSuite experience.
  • Deep knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, COGS, BOMs, WIP, and variance analysis.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong month-end close and account-reconciliation experience.
  • Advanced Excel and financial-analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute immediately in an interim/consulting capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
