Our firm has been selected to conduct a search for an Entry Level Cost Accountant on behalf of a publically traded manufacturing company in Houston. The candidate will rotate through several positions designed to provide the knowledge and background required to accept Controller and Management opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a BS/BA Degree in Finance or Accounting with 0-2+ years’ work experience in cost accounting. Compensation: up to 70K
This position will entertain a competitive range of compensation including base salary and competitive benefits.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (Master’s in Accountancy a plus)
- 0-5 years level of Accounting/Finance or related experience (can be a combination of internship and work experience)
- Plant or Operations experience preferred
- Cost Accounting background a plus
- Inventory experience a plus
- Auditing or governance experience a plus
- Accounting or Finance professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, etc) preferred
Some responsibilities include…
- Daily update and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Preparing daily/weekly/quarterly financial and production performance reports
- Assist in Month-end closing journal entries and reconciliation preparation
- Assist Controller with monitoring of indirect expenses and appropriate assignment of GL accounts
