ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a large, established global banking organization operating within a highly regulated and complex financial-services environment. The organization maintains a sophisticated U.S. Internal Audit function responsible for providing independent assurance and meaningful challenge across critical financial, treasury, risk-management and regulatory activities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The organization expects liquidity risk to become a larger audit priority in the coming fiscal year and is proactively adding support to its U.S. Internal Audit team. The Corporate Treasury Audit Senior Manager will independently lead and execute Corporate Treasury and liquidity-focused audits from initial planning and risk assessment through testing, issue development and final reporting.

This is primarily a senior individual-contributor and audit-lead position. Direct reports are not currently expected. The successful candidate must be comfortable personally performing detailed audit work while communicating effectively with senior stakeholders across Corporate Treasury, Risk, Finance and Internal Audit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and execute Corporate Treasury and liquidity-focused audits from planning through completion.
  • Perform risk assessments and establish appropriate audit scope, testing strategies and documentation.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of controls across treasury, liquidity, funding and related risk-management activities.
  • Independently perform control testing, document results and identify potential control weaknesses or regulatory concerns.
  • Evaluate processes and controls against internal standards, regulatory expectations and relevant industry practices.
  • Develop clear, supportable audit findings and practical recommendations.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Corporate Treasury, Risk, Finance and Internal Audit to understand key risks and provide meaningful independent challenge.
  • Communicate findings, risks and recommendations clearly to audit and business leadership.
  • Monitor the progress of identified issues and corrective actions, as appropriate.
  • Support broader Internal Audit priorities as the organization continues to expand its coverage of treasury and liquidity risk.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit, Corporate Treasury, Treasury Risk or a closely related financial-services discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Corporate Treasury, with particular relevance to liquidity risk and/or funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex audit work from planning and risk assessment through testing, documentation, issue development and reporting.
  • Experience within banking and/or capital markets.
  • Experience auditing or working within a large bank or complex financial institution is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate controls, synthesize complex risk information and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to work predominantly onsite in Jersey City, New Jersey, 4-5 days per week.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience auditing Corporate Treasury, liquidity risk, funding risk or related balance-sheet-management activities.
  • Familiarity with liquidity stress testing, contingency funding, liquidity reporting or related regulatory expectations.
  • Prior experience within a Canadian banking organization or Canadian banking environment is a plus but not required.

TEAM AND REPORTING STRUCTURE

The consultant will report to the U.S. Chief Audit Executive and join a U.S. audit team of approximately 7-10 professionals. This role is expected to operate as a senior individual contributor without direct reports.
