Migration Core SME - Lending & Core Banking Transformation

Location: Dublin, Ireland
Contract: 6-month initial contract
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Migration Core Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a major core banking transformation programme, focusing on the migration of complex lending products, facilities and customer relationships between core banking platforms.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial and corporate lending expertise, alongside detailed knowledge of lending systems, data mapping and migration processes. They will play a key role in ensuring that lending arrangements are accurately represented in the target environment, retaining their essential contractual, financial and operational characteristics.

Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, developers and testing specialists, the SME will translate complex lending product requirements into clear migration rules, support data transformation activities and help ensure the successful delivery of migration testing and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing lending products, facilities, loans and associated processes to define migration requirements.

  • Support the design of migration solutions, ensuring lending structures and contractual characteristics are accurately recreated within the target banking platform.

  • Define and maintain source-to-target data mappings, including transformation rules, derived values, defaults and validation requirements.

  • Contribute to migration data dictionaries, data specifications and detailed mapping documentation.

  • Assess target-system requirements, including mandatory fields, product attributes, data dependencies and the sequencing of migration components.

  • Provide subject-matter expertise across complex lending arrangements, including bilateral and syndicated lending, multi-currency facilities, term loans and revolving credit facilities.

  • Analyse interest rates, margins, repayment schedules, maturity dates, settlement instructions, balances and other critical lending attributes.

  • Investigate differences between source and target system functionality, determining appropriate migration treatments where direct mappings are not possible.

  • Identify data-quality issues, migration exceptions and remediation requirements, working with relevant teams to resolve issues ahead of migration.

  • Support developers in implementing ETL processes by clarifying functional requirements, transformation logic and business rules.

  • Investigate migration defects and discrepancies, identifying root causes across source data, mapping logic, transformation rules and target-system behaviour.

  • Develop and validate migration scenarios, supporting functional testing, system testing, dress rehearsals and migration rehearsals.

  • Reconcile migrated records against source data, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of customer, facility, loan, balance and interest-rate information.

  • Provide specialist support during migration execution, cutover activities and post-migration hypercare.

  • Collaborate with business, technology, data, testing and migration teams to support delivery readiness and migration assurance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience within commercial or corporate lending in a banking environment.

  • Hands-on knowledge of Oracle FLEXCUBE lending functionality and data structures.

  • Experience with Temenos Transact (T24), particularly lending products, facilities and loan structures.

  • Proven experience supporting core banking migrations, data migration initiatives or complex system transformation programmes.

  • Strong understanding of source-to-target data mapping, data transformation rules and ETL processes.

  • Detailed knowledge of lending products, including bilateral and syndicated facilities, term lending, revolving credit and multi-currency arrangements.

  • Understanding of lending interest calculations, interest-rate conventions, repayment schedules, maturity dates and associated contractual attributes.

  • Experience analysing data quality, identifying migration exceptions and supporting remediation activities.

  • Experience supporting migration testing, data reconciliation, defect investigation and validation.

  • Ability to translate complex business and product requirements into detailed functional specifications and migration rules.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting large-scale core banking transformation programmes.

  • Familiarity with Risk-Free Rate (RFR) conventions, compounding methodologies and interest-rate floors.

  • Experience with migration dress rehearsals, cutover execution and post-migration validation.

  • Knowledge of lending operations, credit products and downstream banking integrations.

  • Experience working within structured migration governance, including formal validation and readiness sign-off.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a complex banking transformation, applying specialist lending and core banking knowledge to ensure the accurate migration of critical financial products and customer relationships.

The successful candidate will combine strong product expertise with practical migration experience, helping bridge the gap between business requirements, source-system data and target-platform implementation.
