Controller
This position is a business partner for one of the largest revenue segments. It will be responsible for providing financial information to aid in decision making which includes forecasts and budgets. This position is also responsible for accounting and reporting for these entities. The Controller will oversee 2 teams, one in Houston and one remotely. Ideal candidate must be flexible and familiar with logistics, transportation or shipping businesses.
- Responsible for working closely with the business heads to thoroughly understand the key performance drivers and proactively assist in decision making.
- Preparation of the 5 year budget and the rolling monthly forecast
- Produce accurate and complete ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and year end financials
- Ensure the Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled/monitored and all related long outstanding issues are cleared
- Responsible for working closely with the business to give finance and tax advice when required.
- On inter-company: to ensure both the receivables and payables related to the intercompany billings between legal entities are accurately recorded, and the intercompany billings and recharging is performed on a timely basis and finally that the balances are settled
- Ensure all tax filings (as well as other statutory filings) are done in a timely manner and any payments are made to tax authorities (or other government authorities) on a timely basis
- Responsible for monitoring G&A expenses
- Ensure compliance of all corporate policies, processes and procedures
- To assist business heads and to represent finance in any board meetings in Americas
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA Required
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a leadership role
- Experience working in an international business and teams across multiple time zones is preferred
- Experience with SAP, Oracle or another large ERP system
