Our client, a rapidly growing services company in the Medical Center area of Houston, seeks to add a Controller to their team. This person will be responsible for maintaining the internal controls and financial systems of the company and overseeing key finance functions including financial accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, investment and fund accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, manage, and develop accounting team
- Establish policies and procedures
- Create a long-range budget
- Oversee accounting & finance activities for the organization
- Implement internal controls and liaise with external auditors
- Prepare materials and present financial information to Board of Directors
- Prepare monthly and financial statements
- Partner closely with all department managers to support their needs for transaction accounting, reporting and analysis.
- Act as adviser to CEO & COO for financial matters
- Assist with preparation for company transactions such as IPO.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of related experience
- CPA preferred
- Prior experience taking a company public or getting them ready to go public highly preferred
- Big 4 or other national CPA firm audit experience preferred
