The ideal candidate will have experience in a standard costing environment with a track record of identifying and implementing cost saving initiatives and process improvements. This person will play a key role in implementation of a full costing system. This role will work heavily with Senior Management and Operations team so excellent communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee ME close including analysis and preparation of financial packages in accordance with GAAP
- Budget and forecasting
- Drive operational improvements resulting in cost saving or process improvements
- Lead performance meetings with management - communicate current operating performance using KPIs, forecasted spending, cost savings initiatives, process improvements, and estimates of monthly results
- Review inventory costing methodology and functionality and develop formal documented standard processes
- Develop and refine key performance metrics
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors
- Ensure accuracy of cost accounting methods
- Participate and assist in continuous improvement events
- Assist with ERP conversion
- Ensure documentation and procedures are in accordance with standard Company policies, including SOX
- Training and coaching other leaders to ensure consistent understanding of financial and operational performance basics
- Compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements including preparation or supervision of preparation of any regulatory reporting requirements
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 5 + years standard cost experience
- Excellent communication
- Syteline, MAS 90 experience preferred
- System-savvy, ERP implementation experience preferred
- Experience with SOX compliance preferred
