Summary:
Our firm has been engaged to conduct a search for a Controller on behalf of a large, stable oil and gas company located in Houston. Compensation: $190,000 up to $230,000k
This position will entertain a highly competitive range of compensation including base salary, bonus program, pension plan, outstanding benefits and generous vacation.
Some responsibilities include:
- Manages development of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP requirements for public companies.
- Creation and maintenance of the company’s accounting policies and provides worldwide accounting policy guidance.
- Serves as secretary to the company’s Board Audit Committee and serves as the company’s primary contact with the external auditors and owners on corporate reporting and accounting issues
- Communicates issuance of new accounting standards, modifies existing accounting policies as necessary, and communicates requirements to finance personnel
- Monitors FASB / IASB proposed standards and exposure drafts.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a CPA and a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- Experience managing corporate financial reporting and internal control processes together with the preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures, including the application of U.S. GAAP requirements for public companies.
- Experience researching and providing guidance on accounting policy matters.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Exposure to foreign operations in Asia, Europe and the Middle East is a plus.
- Experience with SAP and Oracle EPM is considered a plus.
