Contractor - LOM Customer Contracts and Master Data Analyst

Korn Ferry is partnering with an oil and gas client in West Houston in their search for a Purchasing Agent on a contract basis for 6-9 months.  This position will be 100% in office.

This position will be providing procurement support and supervision for all assigned location and will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of contracts (purchase orders & outline agreements).  This position will bid, select and negotiate with vendors to obtain materials and/or services from suppliers and the lowest cost with consideration given to quality, reliability and deliver requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review customers' requisitions and process Purchase Orders in SAP to procure materials and services at the most favorable price
• Establish and maintain contracts (outline agreements) consistent with the requirements established by customers using specifications for products or scopes of work for services.  Negotiate prices with vendors, implement selective long-term agreements based on vendor quality and value, and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing.
• Manage the supplier base by performing market analysis and research for evaluating and selecting new suppliers
• Solicit formal and informal supplier bids for materials and services
• Resolve purchasing issues/problems for internal and external customers

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Purchasing experience; OR 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Negotiating skills
• Insurance/indemnification knowledge preferred
• Multi-tasking skills
• Legal terminology and conditions knowledge
• Computer skills:  SAP, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills
