Our client, a national real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Dallas, TX is looking for a strong Human Resources Generalist to join their team for an 8-month+ contract assignment, being an integral part of their overall HR operations.
The ideal HR Generalist candidate will be someone who is professional, well organized, versatile, exercises maximum discretion, collaborative, and can support many functions of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and provide training. Present information to employees and managers in both large and small group formats
- Research and apply for training grants
- Conduct New Employee Orientation
- Identify ways to improve policies and procedures
- Under general supervision, partner with HR Leadership to provide consultative support, advise and provides solutions on all people related subjects
- Manage labor activities in conjunction with HR Leadership through effective management and communication skills
- Conduct workplace investigations; prepare reports and make recommendations
- Assist with employee relations. Coach managers on unemployment and litigation risks
- Learn the business environment, strategy and people implications in order to help management meet and exceed people objectives
- Consult with supervisors in preparing documentation such as; IDP’s, PIP’s and/or Corrective Action
- Ensure that programs are carried out in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Partner with Talent Manager to assist with recruitment efforts for all levels of positions, working closely with hiring managers
- Partner with department leaders to deliver business required programs
- Prepare termination and severance letters, assist managers with delivery
- Implement HR initiatives to drive continuous improvement processes
- Train and provide support to employees and HR team members
Additional Responsibilities:
- Champion assigned HR Projects
- All other duties and special projects as assigned
- Some travel required
Education and Formal Training:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or a combination of a minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an HR Generalist or relevant human resources role
- PHR or SPHR required
- Heavy experience dealing with Employee Relations Issues is a must
- California employment law knowledge is preferred as some employees reside in California
- Understanding of Employee Handbook development
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge in foundational HR competencies and best practices
- HRIS Experience with Ulti-Pro
- Heavy experience dealing with Employee Relations Issues is a must
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Proven ability to act independently, exercise judgment and influence people to take appropriate actions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all HR information and data
- Self-starter; able to work independently and manage an unpredictable workload
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
- Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
- Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
- Experience recruiting with an Applicant Tracking System, hiring practices and onboarding
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
- Experience with employment law including FMLA, FLSA, ADA and applicable CO state law
- Strong proficiency in MS office software including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
- Exhibits strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Exhibits excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual, English and Spanish speaking highly preferred
