Our client, an international leader in packaging is searching for a Continuous Improvement Manager for their site in the Terre Haute, IN area. This is an essential position for this location as they are looking for a CI Manager to create a Lean Six Sigma plan and drive the execution of that vision for a several hundred employee location. The CI Manager must be experienced and comfortable leading Kaizens and also a strong communicator that is comfortable in both leadership settings as well as interacting with employees on the production floor.

Continuous Improvement Manager Responsibilities

  • Identify cost savings projects and work with local and corporate resources to drive completion of Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Work with the Plant Manager on daily production and operations issues to ensure quality, safety, customer service and productivity metrics are met.
  • Use problem solving skills to provide leadership and expertise in areas to improve performance and solve issues.
  • Motivate and train Engineers, Supervisors, and hourly employees in new CI processes.
  • Lead Kaizen events.
  • Extract data from systems to analyze performance to identify areas for new CI projects and to evaluate success of past projects.
  • Generate reports for leadership within assigned areas.

Continuous Improvement Manager Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree is required.
  • Any Six Sigma certification is highly preferred.
  • Must have previously led Six Sigma projects, CI process improvements, Kaizen events, Gemba walks, or other Lean Manufacturing focused projects.
  • Previous experience in a continuous manufacturing process is highly preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal) as the CI Manager will work with corporate leadership, plant management, and hourly employees.
  • Must be high energy and willing to spend their time on the plant floor.
  • Travel will be minimal with only 1-3 trips per year to the Corporate HQ.
