Cloudinary Consultant / Engineer - DAM (Digital Asset Management)

We're looking for a Digital Asset Management SME - Cloudinary Migration to help our client on a remote contract. In this role, you will act as the subject matter expert supporting a large-scale DAM migration initiative, consolidating multiple systems into Cloudinary. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to design, configure, and optimize the Cloudinary platform, ensuring successful data and feature migration. This position combines platform expertise, strong technical problem-solving, API development proficiency, and an understanding of DAM concepts within a digital commerce context.

Responsibilities

· Configure and optimize the Cloudinary platform for migration and ongoing operations

· Support migration activities for legacy systems (Brightcove, MediaBeacon, Scene7) into Cloudinary

· Design, implement, and enhance API services leveraging Node.js, AWS, and GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines

· Troubleshoot and resolve migration or performance-related issues across services

· Improve system reliability, scalability, and overall DAM performance through continuous enhancements

· Create and maintain technical documentation, including code repositories, system design, and APIs

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to clarify requirements and resolve technical challenges

· Monitor and maintain services using observability and monitoring tools to ensure smooth production operations

Requirements

· 3+ years of experience with Digital Asset Management platforms, including Cloudinary as a core skill

· Strong experience with AWS services: (CloudWatch, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway)

· Proficiency in Node.js with experience in microservices-based architecture and protocols (HTTP, REST, GraphQL)

· Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab

· Familiarity with infrastructure automation (CloudFormation or AWS CDK)

· Practical experience with databases such as DynamoDB or Astra

· Solid understanding of DAM/PIM concepts and eCommerce domain principles

· Good knowledge of HTML/CSS, including SASS/SCSS for UI integration

· Knowledge of security principles, SAST testing practices and capable of applying them in code reviews

· Experience with unit and end-to-end testing tools (Cypress, Playwright)

· Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, observability solutions)

Nice to Have

· Experience with Backends for Frontends (BFF) and frameworks such as Express

· Exposure to multi-system DAM migrations and large-scale digital transformations

· Previous experience working in retail, eCommerce, or global digital architecture programs
