Position: Cloud Solutions Architect

Overview: Our client is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to define and communicate cloud strategies, establish cloud readiness criteria, and assist teams in migrating products to optimal cloud architectures. The role involves identifying and implementing top cloud architecture solutions to meet the company’s strategic needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive cloud migration and transformation strategies, including infrastructure roadmaps across various landscapes (application, information, business, and technology).
  • Design secure cloud application environments, enhance cloud platforms, and integrate cloud services, focusing on compliance, quality, and security standards.
  • Establish pilots and proof-of-concepts (POCs) for proposed solutions and provide recommendations for approvals.
  • Create capabilities for automation practices in system initialization, provisioning, and optimization, facilitating infrastructure orchestration and promoting self-service and autonomy.
  • Identify and analyze architecture gaps to propose new technologies.
  • Implement cloud service models and application delivery solutions, including PaaS, Serverless, and Containerization infrastructure.
  • Document best practices and recommendations, and maintain templates and standards.
  • Develop and implement DevSecOps practices, support, maintenance, and governance processes for the cloud platform.
  • Collaborate with development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to deliver and maintain a cloud platform.
  • Ensure efficient and actionable monitoring of systems and applications, aligning service level objectives (SLOs) with business goals.
  • Engage with external vendors to review solutions, new capabilities, products, and service offerings.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

Experience:

  • 4-5 years of hands-on experience in designing and configuring secure and scalable cloud platforms, particularly on Azure.
  • Deep understanding of cloud design patterns, cloud-native architecture, cloud operations, and cloud security models.
  • Proven experience in architecting, designing, and implementing high-volume, high-availability cloud applications with a high degree of automation.
  • Ability to maintain a strategic long-term outlook while supporting business-driven and IT-delivered solutions.
  • Strong programming skills with experience in API, .NET, Node.js, SQL, Postgres, Angular, PowerShell, AKS, EKS, Kubernetes, Postman, JMeter, and Load Runner.
  • Experience working with offshore and contract development teams.

Credentials:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud services, including application integration, functions, cloud databases, developer tools, and security and identity management.
  • Ability to reconcile abstract and concrete concepts for appropriate audiences and contexts.
  • Quick understanding of organizational dynamics and management priorities, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead in-depth client meetings/workshops on topics such as discovery, cloud compliance, and security.
  • Critical thinking with strong research, analytics, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Effective communication across business units and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple streams and mentor less experienced architects.
