Job Title: Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Ireland (Remote)
Contract: 6-month initial contract (multiple extensions expected)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to support a key client within the energy sector. This role will focus on managing and maintaining cloud and core infrastructure environments, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure, server administration, networking, and environment stability. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring infrastructure reliability, performance, and security across production and non-production environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure
  • Administer and support Windows/Linux server environments
  • Manage DNS, domain services, and related infrastructure components
  • Support and maintain network infrastructure including connectivity, routing, and firewall configurations
  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability using appropriate monitoring tools
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure incidents and service outages
  • Assist in environment optimisation and capacity management activities
  • Support DevOps-related tasks including basic automation and deployment support
  • Collaborate with application, security, and operations teams to ensure stable environments
  • Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and operational procedures

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure administration
  • Proven background in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles
  • Solid understanding of server administration (Windows and/or Linux)
  • Experience managing DNS, Active Directory, and domain services
  • Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, routing)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools
  • Basic understanding of DevOps principles and tooling (CI/CD, automation concepts)
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within energy, utilities, or regulated environments
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform)
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience working in hybrid cloud environments

Contract Details

  • Initial 6-month contract
  • Strong likelihood of multiple extensions
