Our Client is an extremely quickly growing, 2B PE-owned technology company based out of Nashville seeking a Chief Accounting Officer.
Chief Accounting Officer
The Chief Accounting Officer will lead all day-to-day finance operations including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, insurance, payroll, and treasury management. In addition, the CAO will partner with the CFO, senior leadership, and the human resources (HR) and information technology (IT) staff to enhance and better integrate finance, HR, and IT functions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and department budgets and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate all audit activity.
- Oversee all tax related matters.
- Lead the month, quarter and year-end financial close.
- Oversee all treasury functions
- Partner with the FP&A team to present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Partner with procurement and FP&A to analyze ROI on expenditures.
- Assist the Company’s leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate. Partner with FP&A team on monthly forecast against budget and organizational cash flow forecasting.
Required / Desired Experiences.
- BA required, MBA preferred; CPA required
- 10+ years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility for the accounting & finance functions along with prior experience in public accounting
- 5+ years proven experience as a Controller
- International experience required
- SEC reporting experience required
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to the Company’s mission; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO, the responsibility for finance
- Solid experience coordinating audit activities and leading the monthly close process
- Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software
- Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly
- Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating financial results, including presentations to senior management, the board or other outside partners
- Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers
