We have partnered with our client in their search for a Cash Application Specialist for a 3-6 month engagement with opportunity to convert to full-time. This role is based in Bolingbrook with an onsite requirement 3 days/week.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate posting of customer payments (check, ACH, wire, credit card) to customer accounts
- Reconcile payments to trade AR receipts provided by Treasury and resolve discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve payment issues such as short payments, missing remittance advice, and chargebacks
- Process refunds, returned payments, and related fees
- Maintain cash application records, spreadsheets, and daily reporting while documenting actions in system tools
Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume transaction processing
- Excellent communication skills for customer and internal issue resolution
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and escalate when needed
Education & Work Experience
- High school diploma required; some college preferred or equivalent experience
- Previous cash application experience required; background in credit, billing, dispute resolution, collections, or customer service helpful
