Title: Business Systems Analyst (BSA)
Location: Hybrid in Toronto/New York (Toronto preferred)

Compensation: $55 - $65/hr. (contract/contract-to-hire)
We have partnered with our client in their search for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA). This role will support the build out of a next generation risk, valuations, and analytics platform by translating complex treasury and capital markets business needs into performant cloud based data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead end to end elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements for data intensive projects
- Write, test, and optimize Spark SQL to transform large data sets and embed business rules in the Azure cloud solution
- Collaborate with engineering, UI, and QA teams in Agile ceremonies to ensure on time delivery and quality outcomes
- Identify and automate process improvement opportunities to enhance data accuracy, performance, and maintainability
- Analyze SSIS packages, onboard new data feeds, build extraction pipelines, and integrate third party data sources
- Guide and review the work of junior BSAs; manage business-as-usual (BAU) production processes
Skills Required
- Advanced SQL and relational database expertise (Oracle, SQL Server) with proven performance tuning skills
- Hands on experience writing Spark SQL within Hadoop/Spark ecosystems (Big Data/NoSQL)
- 5+ years delivering large scale data or analytics projects while juggling day-to-day stakeholder requests
- Strong problem solving, communication, and relationship building abilities; comfortable in distributed Agile teams
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar in data driven financial services environments
- Exposure to Azure cloud platforms, SSIS, and capital markets or treasury risk domains preferred
