The Lucas Group is searching for a talented, driven and entrepreneurial minded Business Development Manager for our client’s team in Atlanta. Our client is a logistics marketplace startup that will transform the experience around outsourced fulfillment.

We are looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager who is passionate about designing and building B2B sales processes. The Business Development Manager is focused primarily on the acquisition of new customers. This position is a significant driver of new and profitable business growth.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain deep understanding of target SMB segments and associated behaviors, e.g. shipping fulfilment requirements, geographic coverage and willingness to pay

• Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets

• Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales

• Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as networking and lead generation tools

• Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers

• Consult with prospects about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits of each

• Ensure smooth customer onboarding process by providing ongoing feedback to product team to optimize customer’s onboarding experience

• Maintain a high level of relevant general and industry knowledge in order to connect with prospects

• Make presentations to senior managers and decision makers

• Draft and deliver proposals

• Work with product developers where required to address customer requirements

• Report on sales activity

• Achieve monthly sales quotas

• Maintain relevant data on prospects and customers in CRM

• Work with Operations team to address potential problems and ensure a great experience at the first delivery

• Work with Growth and Marketing teams to plan and execute lead-generation campaigns

• Provide feedback to sales management on ways to decrease the sales cycle, enhance sales, and improve company brand and reputation

• Create and implement attractive value propositions for customers and ensure service offering stay competitive and relevant to customers’ needs

• Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings

• Work with industry partners to identify opportunities to cross sell

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Marketing or Communications; Master’s degree preferred.

· 5+ years demonstrated success consultative/solution based selling in a B2B environment within a relevant industry. Experience within Supply Chain or Logistics industries is preferred

· Experience selling at the senior management level with a proven track record of routinely closing deals

· 3+ years of relevant industry sales, and/or customer service experience.

· Ability to travel within assigned region using own transportation. Good driving record is required.
