Backend Engineer (Node, Typescript)

We are seeking a proven Backend Developer to join our client on an initial 12-month contract to work on the development and enhancement of scalable, high-performance backend services.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.

This is a remote working position, but you must be comfortable working 2pm-10pm CET, to align with US-based teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and optimise database solutions using PostgreSQL.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues.
• Optimise application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications with Node.js.
• Excellent knowledge of TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing and working with PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
