Backend Developer
Location: Onsite – Houston, TX
We are seeking a senior-level Backend Developer to join a newly formed AI-focused engineering team within a leading energy company. This role is ideal for someone passionate about backend systems, data engineering, and contributing to the integration of AI into real-world operational applications. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team under a highly regarded engineering leader to scale AI capabilities across field operations.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend infrastructure for AI-enhanced operational applications.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines and large-scale data processing systems.
- Design and deploy secure APIs and monitor application performance (APM).
- Support integration testing and ensure secure data handling practices.
- Deploy and manage Docker containers in production environments.
- Collaborate with front-end engineers and AI specialists to deliver scalable solutions.
- Contribute ideas and actively participate in team discussions and solution design.
Skills Required
- Senior-level Python development experience.
- Strong understanding of system design and backend architecture.
- Experience with integration testing and secure data processing.
- Familiarity with Docker and API development.
