Responsibilities
Own and support container hosting using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) - clusters, nodes, deployment patterns, routing, and service communication.
Investigate common Kubernetes issues such as failed pods, crash loops, unhealthy workloads, failed deployments, and resource pressure.
Apply SRE practices to improve service reliability, availability, performance, and operational readiness through monitoring, automation, incident response, and continuous improvement.
Monitor Azure environments and assist with troubleshooting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and related tools.
Configure, test, and maintain basic alerts for service availability, pod failures, deployment issues, and infrastructure events.
Participate in incident response, problem investigation, and root-cause analysis.
Support CI/CD processes leveraging Azure DevOps - all Microsoft stack (little to no third-party tool usage)
Assist with application and infrastructure deployments, maintenance activities, rollbacks, and release validation.
Support Azure networking activities involving VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, firewall rules, Front Door, Application Gateway, and WAF.
Support / implement container orchestration patterns without Helm - using Azure-native constructs.
Partner with the engineering org to evolve the platform from AKS toward Azure Container Apps.
Configure and support core SaaS platform components (Azure App Services, Azure SQL, virtual networking, routing, VNETs, subnets, etc.).
Build and maintain ARM/Bicep templates for deployment and environment provisioning (Terraform not used here).
SaaS background and understanding of container-based application hosting.
Experience deploying via ARM and/or Bicep.
Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (CI/CD exposure).
Willingness to participate in production support, maintenance activities, and incident response as required.

Bachelor's degree in related field
5+ years as a systems Engineer
