MANAGER (LABOR, EMPLOYMENT & IMMIGRATION), TEMP TO HIRE (BERGEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY)
- Temp to Hire hourly rate of pay: $45. Hours are full-time, Monday to Friday. Salary DOE upon hire.
- Attorney or J.D. applicants will be considered
- Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years law firm or in-house experience with a global company.
- Qualified candidates should possess a background in all areas of employment and labor matters, including immigration, policies and compliance.
- Candidate should have direct experience handling arbitrations and matters before administrative agencies such as the NLRB, EEOC and DOL.
- Traditional labor experience including chief negotiator or active second-chair at collective bargaining, handling organizing campaigns, grievances, labor arbitrations and other disputes with unions, prevailing wage matters and multi-employer funds.
- This role will also be responsible for managing the Company’s immigration program for the United States and Canada and providing support and services to candidates on a global basis.
- This position will monitor federal and state employment, labor and immigration regulations and laws to ensure compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, proven research and writing skills and the ability to work independently.
- This position may also cover for Labor Relations Director in their absence.
- Job requires at least 25% travel.
QUALIFICATIONS

- 3-5 years experience in employment and labor experience, including direct participation in collective bargaining negotiations
- Verifiable experience working with union leaders, employees and executives
- Strong experience and working knowledge with prevailing wage and Taft-Harley plans
- Experience working in unionized environment, preferably a utility
- 1+ years of corporate immigration experience either with a law firm or in-house with an organization that has a high volume of immigration-supported employees
Responsibilities:

- Support and implement labor relations strategies that are aligned with business initiatives
- Work with other functions to ensure adherence to the terms of the several collective bargaining agreements
- Responsible for managing the resolution of labor disputes and participation in collective bargaining.
- Stay abreast of changing legal landscape in areas of labor, employment and immigration law to ensure ensure compliance.
- Critically assess and adjust the U.S. immigration case strategy to meet changing needs, often in consultation with internal and external partners. Implement practical and efficient solutions
