Associate Director, Compliance Strategy, Operations & Transformation
Overview
The Associate Director of Compliance Strategy, Operations & Transformation will play a critical role in driving both strategic and operational excellence across the Compliance function. This hybrid role combines responsibility for managing strategic initiatives, organizational transformation, financial governance, resource planning, and operational oversight. The individual will support senior leadership in executing high priority initiatives, enhancing compliance program capabilities, optimizing structural efficiencies, and ensuring disciplined financial and operational management. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical capability, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage complex, multi workstream efforts within a matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives & Transformation
- Lead and manage strategic compliance initiatives, including regulatory remediation, program enhancements, and enterprise transformation efforts.
- Drive organizational design changes, conduct impact assessments, and manage end to end change management activities.
- Develop and execute plans for strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with broader Compliance and organizational goals.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness of compliance programs.
- Support execution of the annual Compliance plan, including tracking objectives, monitoring risks, and escalating issues as needed.
- Prepare strategic insights, presentations, and communications for senior leaders to support decision making and alignment.
Compliance Operations, Financial Governance & Resource Management
- Oversee day to day operational and financial governance, including budget management, cost analysis, and resource allocation.
- Manage staffing processes, including full time employee tracking, organizational structure alignment, and hiring/resource planning.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for financial governance, operational controls, and resource management.
- Lead financial planning activities, forecast updates, cost allocation, and performance reporting for compliance operations.
- Conduct financial, operational, and FTE analyses to support strategic planning and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Track and report operational metrics, budget performance, and resource utilization to senior leadership.
- Provide operational, financial, and analytical support to business management initiatives and cross functional projects.
- Support technology portfolio efforts as needed, particularly in financial/resource planning for compliance related technology initiatives.
Cross?Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with internal stakeholders across functions, regions, and levels to coordinate deliverables and ensure alignment.
- Provide strategic and operational recommendations to senior leadership related to transformation, financial governance, and organizational efficiency.
- Maintain strong communication channels with internal partners, external stakeholders, auditors, and others involved in compliance programs.
- Represent the Compliance function in cross?functional forums, task forces, and governance discussions.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, compliance operations, financial governance, transformation, or program delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex initiatives within a matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred
- JD, Master's degree, or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, project management credentials).
- Experience in compliance transformation, operational excellence, or financial planning roles.
