Job Description
· Assist Controller in supervising/assisting Corporate accounting areas including fixed assets, capital lease management, state/local tax filings (primarily business property & licensing taxes), payroll (journal entries), Commissions cycle, etc.
· Supervise team of three employees
· Responsible for assisting with closing the books monthly and ensuring the books are closed timely, accurately, and in compliance with GAAP.
· Identify opportunities to apply technology solutions in accounting to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of work.
· Review Balance Sheet reconciliations prepared by accounting team members
· Works with Controller and other Accounting Managers with the annual audit of financial records and production of audited financial statements. Also, helps coordinate with the outside auditors on various tax reporting requirements to ensure all tax reporting is done on time and payments are made timely.
· Review current accounting processes, identify opportunities to improve controls, develop improved controls, and implement improved controls.
· Assist Controller with ensuring the company is in compliance current FASB requirements
· Complete special projects as assigned
Education/Experience
· 10 plus years of related accounting experience.
· CPA required with at least four years of public accounting experience.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master's is a plus
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus but not required
· Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
· Must be a demonstrated strong leader that is able to develop a staff.
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· Exposure to financial services business is a plus, but not required.
