Our client, a hospitality industry organization with over 100 locations, seeks an Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ of Big 4 audit experience plus a CPA and related industry experience (even if it was while in public accounting). This person could be coming straight from public accounting into this role.
Assistant Controller Responsibilities include:
- Record and/or review various journal entries
- Review and/or prepare account reconciliations
- Ensures timely accounting closes for each month and quarter
- Coordinate among various business units to ensure consistent accounting treatment for all transactions
- Recommend, design, and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare and review audit schedules
- Perform technical research to ensure compliance with applicable accounting guidance
- Assist in preparation and tie out of financials statements sent to lenders and regulatory agencies
- Test accounting software upgrades or accounting system processes
- Special projects as necessary
Assistant Controller Requirements:
- 3+ years of Big 4 public accounting or other national CPA firm experience with at least 7 years’ total experience
- Relevant experience with a large, diverse multi-unit company
