Lucas Group is partnering with a client in Boulder, looking for a dynamic Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a contract to hire opportunity beginning as soon as possible. A great candidate is an experienced accounting professional who has a strong knowledge of GAAP as it relates to revenue recognition and the accounts receivable process. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment. This role works closely with the sales team to ensure sales orders are accurate and pushed to fulfillment in a timely manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process customer invoices and ensure proper shipping documents are maintained;
  • Monitor bank accounts and manage cash applications making sure all cash receipts are properly
  • applied;
  • Assist customers with billing and payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies;
  • Send weekly and monthly customer account statements;
  • Actively monitor accounts receivable aging report to ensure timely customer payments, compile and submit information on past due accounts to manager and assist with initial collection efforts;
  • Maintain and update customer master files in ERP system;
  • Provide support to internal sales team;
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred with a minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience.
  • In addition, critical skills are: Highly organized, self-motivated, proactive, positive, inquisitive, adaptable team player with a focus on results and timelines;
  • Strong organization skills with ability to independently adjust and manage multiple priorities with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Experience working in NetSuite a plus;
  • Excellent professional communication skills; both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities;
