Accounts Payable Consultant

Location: Midtown Manhattan (Hybrid - Onsite 4 days/week)

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Consultant to provide critical support to their AP function. This role ensures smooth day‑to‑day operations, accurate vendor payment processing, and strong communication with both internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment while supporting upcoming system transitions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing & AP Operations

    • Perform daily accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, entry, and submission.
    • Review invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and approval alignment.
  • Vendor Management

    • Onboard and maintain vendor records, including setting up new vendors in Workday.
    • Verify vendor banking information and complete wire verification procedures to ensure secure payments.
  • Payment Processing & Issue Resolution

    • Support timely and accurate processing of payments, including wires and ACH transactions.
    • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries, discrepancies, or escalations.
  • System Transition & Testing Support

    • Participate in testing and transition activities related to the implementation of a new AP tool.
    • Provide feedback, identify issues, and support process alignment during the change.
  • Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
    • Maintain accurate AP records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a fast-paced or enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday required.
  • Strong understanding of invoice workflows, vendor onboarding, and payment protocols.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working onsite in midtown 4 days per week.
