Lucas Group has been engaged by our Oil & Gas Client on a search for an Accounting Supervisor. This role will be responsible for monthly close including preparing monthly accruals, maintaining general ledger, journal entries, financial reporting, monthly financial analysis,  balance sheet account reconciliations, and various HQ reports by compiling and analyzing account information. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform general ledger accounting practices including preparing and recording journal entries, month-end close procedures, preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliations, assisting financial statements and other accounting activities
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting standards and all transactions are made in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, IFRS and federal/state guidelines
  • Support budgeting and perform variance analysis on a monthly basis and identify opportunities to control costs and reduce expenses
  • Ensure all internal controls are in place and complied with, and that policies are in accordance with reporting requirements, compliance rules and regulations
  • Prepare and assist documentation for internal and external audits. Maintain strong relationship with external auditors; confer with external auditors on various transactions
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate with staff and various departments throughout the company and all levels of management regarding accounting issues
  • Supervise and direct work of A/P and A/R and admin; review all vendor invoices, fees, taxes and other expenses and ensure  timely collection of A/R 
  • Work with staff to ensure validity of financial records through identifying, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Train and develop staff in their areas as needed and provide performance feedback and coaching
  • Responsible for the recruiting, training, and performance management and development of finance associates and evaluate team member’s performance annually

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5-7+ years of accounting experience in Oil & Gas industry with progressive supervisory experience preferred.
  • Financial reporting and analysis experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Relevant professional certification such as CPA, CA, local equivalent or Master's in Finance or Accounting plus
  • Must be bilingual (English and Korean)
