Our client, a construction company located near the downtown Houston area, seeks an Accounting Manager to add to their team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of
accounting, internal controls, and financial systems implementations, as well as assisting with monthly close and reporting. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Key Accounting Manager Responsibilities Include:
- Review WIP schedule and oversee project revenue recognition
- Prepare/approve and record monthly journal entries
- Manage aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Prepare/approve account reconciliations
- Support month-end close cycle, financial statement preparation and analysis / reporting
- Assist with annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and management reports
- Perform monthly review of actual results versus budget and prior periods identifying trends and cost concerns
- Assist with development and documentation of business processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting policies
- Participate in external audits
- Assist with testing and activities related to ERP implementation
Accounting Manager Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years’ experience in a similarly sized construction organization
- 2+ years’ leadership experience
