SUMMARY

Reporting to the Controller and CFO on all Accounting and Finance matters.

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and helpfulness of financial information and reports by fulfilling regular accounting duties and by partnering with the Controller to build a reliable internal control environment.
  • Assist Controller and CFO with due diligence/integration activities associated with mergers & acquisitions
  • This will be a flexible role that will embody project work, teamwork, and recurring/routine tasks. The daily responsibilities may have a higher proportion of project work in the beginning.

 

Typical Job Duties

  • Work with Controller to design closing procedures/processes and own monthly closing process and implement accounting system and processes.
  • Prepare financial statements and lead preparation for audits and be the primary point of contact for audits
  • Prepare and post journal entries with journal entry support
  • Accounting research and prepare formal accounting memos documenting accounting positions
  • Prepare GL account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of the financial statements
  • Prepare and post journal entries with journal entry support
  • Working with third party service providers as necessary (i.e. Deloitte for taxes)
  • Ensuring timely filings to government (i.e. K1s, 1099s, property taxes, sales taxes, etc.)
  • Perform historical and budget variance analysis as necessary create reports useful to the Controller or CFO and others in the company to drive business improvement

 

Education & Skill Set

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in the field of Finance or Accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy required
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple entities
  • Great Plains experience (highly preferred)
